Petroleum Engineer - Oklahoma

Our Oklahoma City office has an exciting opportunity on the technical team in the development and optimization of new and existing production, reserve evaluations and new project studies.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing reservoir expertise to develop, monitor and optimize reservoirs
  • Coordinating and driving development projects
  • Working with Field Operations to enhance production, evaluate ongoing field development programs, reduce operating costs, optimize capital costs
  • Identifying and evaluating behind pipe and undeveloped opportunities on existing company assets.
  • Providing engineering input into the evaluation of exploration and exploitation potential
  • Evaluating reservoirs, estimating reserves
  • Maintaining and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of reserves system
  • Evaluating internal and external opportunities
  • Preparing production forecasts, operating plans, expenditure forecasts, etc. for asset valuation, budgeting, strategic planning and portfolio analysis
  • Performing economic modeling and evaluations
  • Evaluating investment alternatives, scenario planning
  • Identifying, investigating and evaluating acquisition and divestiture opportunities

Qualifications:

Your strong communication, organizational, and project management skills will allow you to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. With 10-15 years in the oil and gas industry, your experience includes reserve estimations, production optimization, economic evaluation, production optimization. You will use Aries and will have familiarity with industry standard data formats and data sources. The following expertise will be considered a plus:

  • Dewatering project experience
  • Reservoir characterization and model building
  • Field development / exploitation experience with horizontal drilling
