Intermediate/Senior Exploitation/Production Engineer

Enterra Energy Trust has an opportunity available for an Intermediate/Senior Exploitation/Production Engineer. This individual will be an integral member in one of our asset technical and operation teams and will report to the Manager, Engineering. This hands-on position is based out of Calgary and requires regular travel to our field operations locations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with Field Operations to assist them in optimizing operations by :
    • Reducing operating costs
    • Monitoring and optimizing existing well performance by:
      • Optimizing artificial lift design
      • Monitoring daily/weekly well production and fluid levels
      • Improving operational reliability
    • Optimizing facility performance
      • Operating conditions
      • Process flow
  • Developing work over plans.
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance in all our operations.
  • Working with an asset team of Earth Scientists and field operations supported by Finance, Land and Joint Venture specialists to:
    • Identify and justify operational development opportunities.
    • Prepare project economics as required, and initiation of appropriate AFE recommendations.
    • Plan, coordinate and implement projects. This would include the development of detailed work plans, setting project timelines, and ensuring efficient implementation of the project.
    • Prepare asset operating and capital budgets which would include production forecasts, operating plans, expenditure forecasts, etc. for asset valuation, budgeting, strategic planning and portfolio analysis.

Requirements:

Strong communication, organizational, and team skills will allow you to work with other members of the team to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.; a B.Sc. in Engineering or production technology diploma; 5 to 8 years experience in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin in most reservoir types ranging from shallow, heavy oil to deeper gas plays with hands-on field optimization, development and depletion planning.

The successful candidate will:

  • have working knowledge of, exploitation, production operations, and facilities operations;
  • have direct experience in project management and organizational savvy;
  • have experience working as part of a multi-discipline team;
  • be self-motivated and results oriented
  • have versatility in building relationships and communication with other departments.
